Cherry Orchards

Blenheim Park is home to Maine’s largest cherry orchard, growing 200 sour cherry trees and and 150 ornamental flowering trees.

Our fruit is used to produce delicious cocktail cherries in syrup, mignonettes and antioxidant rich shrubs, while our ornamental cherry orchard will produce an exciting range of products, from preserved cherry blossoms to teas, cocktail accroutement, bath and body products and more.

Both orchards provide a stunning location for events such as Hanami (blossom viewing), Orchard Suppers, Photographic Projections, our beloved Dog Halloween Parade, and outdoor markets; all of which will bring a dash of our favorite Far Eastern and European flavors to Maine’s midcoast, as did the shipping Captains of yesteryear.

The orchards are expected to reach full production of 2-3 tons of fruit and blossoms annually from 2024.

Surrounded by pristine lakes, our trees are grown using organic practices, without synthetic herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers.

While we are a working orchard, family run, and not open daily to the public, we offer online shopping for the delicious cherry and cherry blossom products we make, and we open our store periodically throughout the year.

The orchard is also available for hourly rental to photographers and filmmakers, and we run several special events throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming you to one of them!

Dwarf Sour Cherries

We grow three varieties of dwarf sour cherries. Carmine Jewel (Prunus fruticosa x Prunus cerasus ‘Carmine Jewel’), Romeo (Prunus fruticosa x Prunus cerasus ‘Romeo’) and Juliet (Prunus fruticosa x Prunus cerasus ‘Juliet’). This series, which originated in the prairies of Canada, produce large purple-red fruit with dark red flesh and scrumptious, rich flavor, packed with antioxidants.

Our 200 tree cherry orchard was established in 2018. When fully producing we expect to be harvesting 2 to 3 tons of fruit annually. Our fruit is grown with love using all organic practices and destined to become holistic shrubs and a cocktail cherry fit for a Queen.

Cherry Blossoms

Confirmed romantics, we’re in love with the spectacle of the cherry blossoms in Spring (think Sakura in Japan, think DC and Brooklyn Botanic Garden) and with 150 flowering cherries under crop as of 2022, we look forward to our own cherry blossom festivals right here on the midcoast of Maine.

We have a mix of flowering cherries to extend the blossom period, but primarily we grow Kwanzan (Prunus serrulata ‘Kanza), which produce an amazing show of deep pink double flowers from April to early May. In addition to their spectacular beauty, they produce a delicious by-product — the preserved cherry blossom —both savory and sweet, popular as tea, in baked goods, and in cocktails.
