Greg Gorman: The Fine Art Nude and Connected Portrait 2026

  • Blenheim Park Maine LLC 574 Turner Rd Bremen United States (map)

Join legendary Master Photographer Greg Gorman in beautiful midcoast Maine for a 5 day Master Class, The Fine Art Nude and Connected Portrait.

Returning to beautiful Blenheim Park for his 7th Master Class, Greg Gorman is world renowned for his illustrious career in the motion picture industry and the extraordinary nudes published in his many beautiful books. Greg has photographed most of Hollywood’s icons but is perhaps best known for his stark use of light and uncanny ability to get inside the heads of some of the world’s most complex personalities.

In this special workshop, Greg will work intensely with his students, revealing his motivations and techniques. Students will witness Greg working as well as having him and his highly skilled teaching assistants working directly with them.

Daily studio and location sessions with professional models will be supplemented by morning presentations/demonstrations by Greg and invited guests, also allowing time for group and individual picture critiques.  Emphasis will be on the nude as portrait and on straight portrait photography in the studio as well as the environment using many evocative settings offered in our stunning lakeside locale.

Through his highly regarded workshops, Greg explains how to see and understand light and how best to communicate with the talent to get that connected portrait. Classes are small, intimate and completely hands-on.

Small Class, Multiple Models Daily:

Attendees will find this workshop a life-changing experience. Classes are small, intimate and completely hands-on. Each student will have an ample amount of time daily to photograph models under Greg’s guidance.

Capturing the soul of a person in a photographic portrait is the central theme of this intimate workshop in which Greg shares his vision and his process from both the intuitive and technical perspectives while shooting.

The workshop also focuses on studio and location lighting techniques. Greg demonstrates his use of artificial and natural light to enhance a portrait, and discusses the most effective use of lenses, camera angles, and appropriate lighting with a variety of situations and personalities.

Working with pro lighting gear from California Sunbounce and RotoLight, you’ll have access to studio space, representatives from Fujifillm, and many beautiful locations to refine your skills.

3 Days Onsite + 2 Offsite Excursion Days

Blenheim Park’s 16 acre estate offers many varied and photogenic vignettes.  Under Greg’s guidance in the studio and throughout the estate, which includes lake access, woods, a cherry orchard and many ‘sets’, students will make beautiful photographs while  practicing their newly acquired skills.

Professional models are provided each shooting day, giving each participant a variety of images to include in their portfolio at the conclusion of the workshop.

This year will also see us road tripping as a group and photographing offsite in beautiful locations a short drive from the property to enable you to experience more of this beautiful region.

In addition to an inspiring week with likeminded artists, our lakeside setting will do wonders for your spirit too.  Let the call of the Loons help you forget the year that’s been and ignite your creative spark.

We’ll sprinkle in delicious restaurant meals, lighthouse excursions, a lobster lunch, and other activities to help make this not only a wonderful time to advance your artistic vision, but a great opportunity for you to ‘reset’ from the daily grind, while building lifelong connections with other artists who share your interest in creating this type of work.  So much more than a workshop, this is an experience you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

Meet Your Instructor

Greg Gorman is one of the most revered portrait photographers of our time, known for creating bold, timeless images of some of the most influential cultural figures of the past half-century. His subjects have included Andy Warhol, David Bowie, Grace Jones, Elton John, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Robert De Niro, to name just a few —yet beyond the names, it is his ability to reveal something essential and unguarded that defines his work.

With a signature style rooted in light, shadow, and simplicity, Gorman strips away distraction to focus entirely on the human presence before him. His portraits are at once graphic and intimate—sculptural in form, yet deeply connected to the spirit of the subject.

Over a career spanning more than five decades, his work has appeared in leading publications, global campaigns, and galleries worldwide, earning him numerous honors including a Lifetime Achievement Award in Portraiture.

As an educator, Gorman brings the same clarity and intensity to his teaching as he does to his photography—guiding students to not only refine their technical skills, but to create work with intention, confidence, and emotional depth.
